Chapter 8: Over The River And Through                           The Woods

It seemed only a short time later when the front door swung violently inward, crashing loudly against the wall.  Serena jerked up and looked toward the sound.  In the doorway she saw a six-foot tall female grizzly bear clad in a yellow spandex top and shorts, yellow sweatbands and a matching headband.  The She-bear turned toward Serena and Martin, growling.

“Somebody’s been SCREWING in MY bed!!”

Martin’s pupils shrank to tiny points as terror consumed him.  He leapt up, his legs churning in the air, trying to run.  The she-bear strode forward, reached out and snagged the terrified mink by the tail.

“C’mere, Goldilocks,” she rumbled.

“Leave him alone!” Serena shouted at the larger fur without thinking.

Holding Martin upside down by his tail, the grizzly looked over and down on Serena.

“And just who are you?” The she-bear asked with a wicked smile and a low growl.

“My name is Serena...Put him down or I’ll make you wish you had!”

The She-bear merely smiled, apparently amused by Serena’s threat.  She Raised Martin’s crotch even with her muzzle.

“Haven’t seen you before,” the grizzly said as she licked her lips and contemplated the mink’s pouch.

Martin whimpered pitifully, frightened, embarrassed and in some small amount of discomfort.  Serena felt her anger rise, fueled by the bear’s callous treatment of Martin.

“That’s because I’m new,” Serena said, her voice dropping an octave.  “Now PUT HIM DOWN!”

The She Bear merely smiled pointedly at Serena and then gave Martin’s pouch a long, slow lick with her enormous tongue.  Martin whimpered and shivered.

“Ursula,” Amanda interrupted, hoping to avoid the developing confrontation.  “These two helped me with your bed.  You really should be thanking them.”

Serena climbed off the bed and stood in front of Ursula looking up, unafraid, at the larger fur.  The grizzly looked down at Serena, smiling wickedly.

“And just how did you help Amanda with my bed, little fur?” She growled.

“Don’t underestimate me,” Serena warned with a contemptuous smirk.  “I have my ways...”

“Oh do you, now?” Ursula grinned.

“I may only be three feet tall,” Serena continued.  “But big things do come in small packages.”

With a derisive snort, Ursula crawled up and knelt on the bed, still carrying Martin by his tail.

“Okay, Show me,” Ursula challenged.  “Make Goldielocks here cum.”

“Let him go, I say,” Serena repeated.

“I didn’t think you would do it,” Ursula chuckled.

“Do what?”

“This.”

With practiced ease, Ursula sucked Martin’s dick from it’s sheath.  Martin whimpered, half in fear, half in pleasure as his shaft began to swell.  Ursula flicked her tongue over the tip, causing Martin to groan softly.  With a last contemptuous look at Serena, the she-bear clamped her jaws over Martin’s throbbing minkhood and began working it in earnest.  Serena’s eyes narrowed in anger, her fists balled up at her sides and she took a step toward the bed.

Amanda’s hesitant touch on her shoulder caused her to pause, however.  She looked to the beaver.

“Her...Her feet are ticklish,” Amanda whispered timidly.  “If you’re really going to risk it.”

A sly smirk crossed Serena’s lips.

She sneaked up behind Ursula, who was totally focused on sucking on Martin’s tool.  Martin whimpered softly.  Serena pounced on one of the She-bear’s large feet and began to tickle her.

“Hey!” Ursula said, her position on the bed making it all but impossible for her to turn and get at Serena.  Heh heh...What do you...Heheheh...Th-think you’re...heheh.  You’re doing?”

Ursula burst out laughing. She squirmed and tried to free her foot from Serena’s grip, but Serena held on tightly and continued to tickle Ursula mercilessly, a broad grin on her face.

“Stop it!” Ursula managed to blurt out.  “STOP!!”

“Tickle, tickle, tickle,” Serena teased gleefully as she redoubled her tickling efforts.

Ursula fell forward, catching herself with her free hand.  Her whole body convulsing with the effort of her laughing.  But still she held on to Martin’s tail.

“P-please stop!” Ursula pleaded.

“Drop the mink and I just might,” Serena said as she continued tickling Ursuala’s foot.

“P-please!” Ursula begged.  “Please stop!  I’ll...I’ll wet myself!”

Serena noticed a small wet stain appear on the she- bear’s yellow spandex shorts.

“Let the mink go,” Serena repeated, chuckling at the though of the big bad bear wetting herself.

“Don’t stop, Serena,” Amanda encouraged, a wicked smile on her lips.

“O-okay!  Okay!!” Ursula bellowed.  “You win!!”

Ursula released Martin’s tail.  The mink scrambled off and under the bed.  Serena gave Ursula’s foot one last tickle for good measure, then scrambled off the bed herself.  She grabbed Martin and rushed quickly for the door.

“Sorry to cut this visit short, Amanda!” she called over her shoulder.  I’ll be back again!  ‘Bye!”

As Serena and Martin rushed out, Amanda turned back to the still laughing bruin, a malicious glint in her eye.

Serena rushed across the dam next to Amanda’s house, dragging Martin behind her.  She paused on the other side of the dam, the grizzly’s laughter continuing to drift out of Amanda’s place.  She suddenly realized that Randy was not with them.  She thought back and couldn’t remember seeing Randy in Amanda’s place once Ursula had announced her presence.  She looked to Martin who stood there with his hands held covering his groin looking utterly miserable.

“Poor thing,” She sympathized genuinely.

“I-I’m Sorry, Serena,” Martin said softly.

“For what?” Serena asked.

“For...For being such a coward.  You were really brave to stand up to Ursula like that.”

In the distance, the laughter was interrupted by a shout of ‘oh no!’ from the grizzly.  Serena smiled, imagining what she was sure had just happened.

“I’m used to it,” she told Martin as she walked up to him.  “I may be short but I have enough bravery for someone fifteen feet tall.  They didn’t call it the Giant Forest just for the trees.  I had a friend there who stood seven foot eight.  I stood up to him all the time.  I’m stronger than I look, you know.  It’s natural for a cat of my species.”

“Thank you,” Martin said, giving Serena a tender peck on the cheek.  “It was still really brave.”

“Thanks,” Serena said with a smile.

“Uhh, Serena?”

“What?”

“I...ummm...I think we left our clothes at Amanda’s.”

“Hmmmm,” Serena mused out loud as she debated returning to face an angry grizzly bear to retrieve their clothes. She had to admit, though, she did like the idea of Martin au naturale’.

Martin, still covering his groin, draped his tail over Serena’s shoulders, wincing a little as he did so.

“Are you all right?” Serena asked, noticing the mink’s discomfort.

“I’m a little sore where Ursula was holding me,” Martin said.

Serena could have pointed out that she could use her long hair to cover herself, but she was touched by Martin’s gentlefurly gesture.  And she loved the feel of his soft silky tail around her.  For his part, Martin tried to “pouch his goodies”, but Serena’s close proximity made that all but impossible.  Out of sympathy for the shy mink, Serena didn’t bother rearranging her fur to cover her own “goodies”, letting Martin’s tail do the job.

“How far is your house from here?” she asked.

“It’s on the other side of the lake,” Martin said with a definite air of dispair.  “M-maybe we won’t run into anyone?”

“Hmmmm,” Serena mused.  “Maybe...Now where did I leave my suitcase?”

“You have a suitcase?” Martin asked.  “I didn’t see one when we met in the clearing.”

“Yeah,” Serena said, trying to remember where she had put her luggage.  “I had one here and I sorta put it somewhere.  I didn’t want to haul it around.”

“Oh,” Martin said.  “Well, maybe we’d better get started.”

The pair made their slowly through the forest, due in large part to Martin trying to keep himself and Serena covered and his habit of stopping at every little sound.

They were about halfway around the lake when a deep voice with a southern accent cleared it’s throat.  Martin and Serena both pulled up short, their eyes wide in panicked surprise and embarrassment.  Martin’s tail reflexively stuck straight back, whipping itself off Serena’s shoulders.  Thinking quickly, Serena arranged her long hair to cover her ‘naughty bits’ and turned around to find Beuford standing behind her and Martin.

“Well now,” The bloodhound said officiously.  “Martin Mink and...Serena, was it?”

“Hello, Mister Beuford,” Serena said, smiling and blushing.  “If you’re wondering what’s going on...We forgot our clothes at Amanda’s house, and we were trying to get to Martin’s place to get some new ones, plus Ursula frightened me and Martin, and I had to think fast to save Martin from her.”

All the time she was talking, her hands were hurriedly rearranging her fur under the cover of her hair.

“Y’all do know about th’ ordinance against runnin’ around nekkid, don’tcha?” Beuford asked with a knowing smile.

“Ummm...Yes sir,” Martin said quietly.

“I don’t,” Serena said, tossing back her long hair.  “‘Sides...I’m not really naked.”

“But he is,” Beuford said without missing a beat.  “And Y’all is an accomplice.”

“S-sorry, Serena,” Martin said miserably.

“Ya kin explain it all down at Town Hall,” Beuford said with a wry grin.

“Actually, Sir,” Serena said.  “We were trying to get back to his place to get some new clothes.”

Serena took Martin’s tail and wrapped it around the mink’s hips.

“And if you think about it,” she said with friendly smile.  “Now he isn’t naked.  That and I’m new.  I don’t know all the laws yet.”

“Ah don’t rightly know...” Beuford said slowly.  “Ah don’t much like technicalities there, Ma’am...And ignorance of the law ain’t no excuse niether.”

“Pwease let us go,” Serena pleaded, flashing her most irresistible cute smile and batting her eyes at the constable.  “I promise we won’t do it again.”

Beuford walked up to Serena and hooked a finger under her chin, raising her eyes to meet his.  He looked deeply and longingly into her sapphire blue eyes.  His lips grew a silly grin.

“Well,” he drawled.  “Ah guess Ah could let y’all off with a warnin’...But just this once, y’heah.”

“Thank you,” Serena said with a smile before she kissed the bloodhound’s nose.

Beuford reached his arm around her shoulders, leaned her back and returned her kiss before releasing her.  Serena smiled shyly at Beuford, blushing brightly.

“Good evening ma’am,” Beuford said before turning around to walk into the woods.

Serena quickly took Martin’s hand and led him in the opposite direction.  They detoured slightly from a direct course to Martin’s home to swing by the entrance to Rutwell Forest where Serena remembered she had left her suit case.  They continued through the woods, coming at last to the clearing in which Martin’s home stood. The building was a small cottage in white with dull green trim.  Pacing in front of the building was a light brown furred rabbit clad in a pair of shorts and a halter top.

“Oh no!”  Martin exclaimed softly as he ducked back into the foliage around the clearing.

“What?” Serena asked, following Martin’s example.

“It’s Joy Bunny,” Martin whined.  “I’m na-naked...and she’s a...”

“Oh,” Serena said, stifling the urge to grin at Martin’s shyness.  “You don’t have a back entrance?”

“N-never needed one.”

Serena opened her suitcase and dug out a pair of pants and tossed them at Martin.

“Try these on,” she said.

“B-b-but, they’re yours,” Martin stammered.

“Actually, they’re not.  They’re a bit big for me.”

“But....”

“Just put them on.”

Martin hastened behind a tree to get dressed.  Serena took out a pair of cut-off jeans and a light blue tank top and got dressed as well.

“Are you decent?” she asked Martin as she peeked around behind the tree.

“Ghaaa!” Martin exclaimed as he hurriedly pulled up the pants and fumbled with the zipper.

“Sorry,” Serena said, blushing almost as brightly as Martin.

A moment later, Martin came out from behind the tree.  The pants were, perhaps, a little tight but not uncomfortably so.

“D-do I look okay?” Martin asked.

“You look fine,” Serena said as she closed her suitcase.  “You can change them when we get into your place.  Now come on, you have company.”

The female rabbit turned toward the pair as they walked into the clearing, an anxious look on her face.

“There you are,” she said to Martin.  “I was hoping to find you at...who’s your friend?”

“Hi, I’m Serena,” Serena answered for Martin.  “A new resident in Rutwell.”

“Hello, Serena,” the rabbit said, extending her hand to shake Serena’s.  “I’m Joy...Joy Bunny.  Pleased to meet you.

“You too,” Serena said, shaking Joy’s hand.

“You must have just got in,” Joy said, noticing Serena’s suitcase.

“Yeah, I got in earlier today.  Martin offered to let me stay with him until I find a home of my own.”

“He did,” Joy said, glancing in surprise at Martin.  “That’s wonderful.  He’s just cute as a button, isn’t he?”

Martin blushed bright red.

“He is,” Serena agreed.  “And he’s one of the most Gentlefurs I’ve ever met.”

“He is that,” Joy said, reaching out and tickling Martin under his chin.  “And he’s fun, too.”

Martin smiled nervously at Serena, sweat popping off his head.  Serena smiled back at him.

“So, Martin, you’ve been showing Serena around then?”

“Uhhh...Yeah,” Martin coughed nervously.

Serena giggled.

“He introduced me to many of the inhabitants here,” Serena said, yawning slightly.  “S’cuse me...I’ve had a long day.”

“Oh, okay,” Joy said, taking the hint.  “Oh, by the way.  You haven’t seen a brown furred rabbit anywhere abouts, have you?”

“You mean Randy?” Serena asked.  “Last I checked, he was at Amanda’s.  He was showing me around today as well.”

“That’s him,” Joy said.  “Amanda’s?  Thanks.  I’ve been posing for some hack artist all day and I really need to blow off some steam...If you know what I mean.”

“I do,” Serena said with a conspiratorial smile.

Martin seemed completely clueless.

“Myself, I’m going to relax for the rest of the day,” Serena said.

“With a friendly fur like Martin,” Joy said with a sly grin.  “Who couldn’t relax?  Nice to have met you Serena.  Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.”

Martin and Serena waved to Joy as she hopped off into the forest.

“Was she mad at Randy?” Martin asked.

“I don’t know,” Serena said.

“But she was going to blow off some steam...”

“Not that kind of steam,” Serena said, smiling at Martin’s naiveté.

Still clueless, Martin took Serena’s suitcase, opened the door and led her inside.

The living room beyond the door was relatively sparse, with a couch, an over stuffed chair, television, a small VCR and a rack of video tapes.  There were two doors and an open exit from the room that led to a kitchen.

“The Bathroom is over there,” Martin said, pointing to one of the closed doors.  “I’ll put your suitcase in here.”

Martin walked through the other door.  Serena looked around the room.  A flash of color at the couch caught her attention.  She went over and spotted a tiny piece of silken cloth sticking up from between the cushions.  She pulled at it and a pair of pale green, silken panties with some embroidered writing on them, came up in her hand.  She blinked in surprise and looked at the embroidered letters.

          VIXEN WINTERFOX  MERRY X-MAS

“Vixen Winterfox?” Serena wondered softly to herself.  “Who’s Vixen Winterfox?”

She heard Martin coming back and quickly sat down, stuffing the panties under her to hide them.  Martin came into the room carrying a pillow and a couple blankets which he set down next to the overstuffed chair.  Serena smiled and blushed slightly at Martin’s gentlefurly gesture.

“So...H-how do you like the place?” he asked.

“I like it,” Serena answered.  “It looks cozy.”

“It’s home,” Martin said sighing contentedly.  “Are you hungry?”

As if on cue, Serena’s stomach growled.

“Yeah, I am, actually.” Serena said, smiling and blushing slightly.

“I’m not much of a cook,” Martin admitted.  “Will hamburgers be okay?”

“Hamburgers would be fine,” Serena said.

Martin turned and trotted out to the kitchen.  As the pots and pans began to rattle, Serena took the panties out from under her and stuffed them back between the cushions.  Martin periodically checked with Serena as to how she wanted her burger cooked and what she wanted on it.  Several minutes later he emerged from the kitchen wit a pair of plate on each of which rested a large hamburger that was half meat and half ‘the works’.  He rushed back into the kitchen and returned with a cola for each of them.  Martin ate quietly, his eyes never leaving Serena unless she looked at him.  Serena smiled to herself at Martin’s unspoken compliment.

“W-we met a lot of people today,” Martin said as he finished his hamburger.

“I know,” Serena said, finishing her burger and sipping at her cola.

“We still have some more people I could introduce you to tomorrow.”

“That would be wonderful,” Serena said, smiling at him serenely.

Martin became visibly nervous under Serena’s gaze.

“Ummm...I...Uhhh...I should take a shower,” he said suddenly.  “Feel free to watch the TV or the VCR.  I-I won’t be long.”

“That’s all right,” Serena said, continuing to smile serenely at the nervous mink.  Take all the time you want...”

Martin hopped up and rushed into the bathroom and closed the door.  Serena got up and looked over Martin’s collection of movies.  Snow White, Cinderella, The Jungle Book, The Sword In The Stone, Robin Hood...Serena giggled at Martin’s taste in movies, somehow so appropriate for him.  As she heard the shower start up, she selected The Jungle Book and loaded it into the VCR.  Several minutes into the movie, she heard the water stop, a few minutes after that the sound of a blowdryer drifted out of the bathroom.

At length, Martin emerged from the bathroom.  He wore an ankle length green bathrobe with yellow trim pulled tightly closed around him.  Serena could just make out the cuffs of the blue pajamas he wore underneath.

“How’s the movie?” Martin asked.

“I like it,” Serena said.

“Me too.  Baloo is funny, but Sher Kahn reminds me a little of Ursula.”

“I think I’ll go take a shower myself,” Serena announced as she got up from the couch.  “Is that okay?”

Okay, It’s all warmed up.”

Serena hurried to the room that Martin had taken her suitcase to, which turned out to be his bedroom.  She took little notice of the room, quickly removing a long T-shirt from her suitcase.  She went over to the bathroom and went inside.  She caught Martin watching her as she turned to close the door.  She turned on the water and quickly stripped before stepping under the warm, relaxing spray.  As she washed she could hear Martin singing lightheartedly and just a little off key, along with the movie.  She smiled to herself, imagining Martin’s happy smile as he sang.

She finished her shower and wrapped a towel around herself before she started blow-drying her hair.  She heard a timid knocking at the door.

“Serena?”

“Yes?”

“D-do you need anything?  A bathrobe or....”

“No thank you,” Serena answered, smiling and looking over to her long T-shirt.  “I’ll be out in a minute.”

She cleaned up her little mess and slipped on her T-shirt.  She stepped out of the bathroom to find Martin in the chair, once more watching the movie.  He turned and looked at Serena.  His eyes went wide as he gasped and turned quickly back to the TV sitting very stiffly.

“What’s the matter?” Serena asked, her voice soft and soothing.

“O-oh n-nothing, Miss Serena,” Martin stammered nervously.  “I...I didn’t mean t-to...to look...I mean....”

Sweat drops popped off Martin’s head.  Serena walked up next to the chair.

“You look fidgety,” She said softly.

“F-f-fidgety?” Martin squeaked, still looking rigidly at the movie.  “M-m-me?  heheheh.”

Serena smiled. She so enjoyed pressing the mink’s buttons.

“Is my nightshirt too much?” She asked innocently.

“O-oh no!” Martin said quickly.  “It...It’s...I mean...You s-sleep in it...I shouldn’t be looking at it...I mean....”

Martin place his hands in his lap, trying to cover his groin area.

“Is it too short?” She asked, pulling up the night shirt a little to look at it, consequently exposing her lower thighs.

Martin looked.  Then he realized he was looking and looked quickly at the ceiling, blushing profusely.

“It...It looks just fine,” he said.

“You know when I said I’d make it up to you later?”

“Uh huh...” Martin said, his voice small and timid.

Serena climbed into Martin’s lap.  Then, looking deeply into his eyes, she said in a softly soothing purr....

“Mind if I make it up to you now?”
